Graphic Packaging Celebrates String of Awards at North American Paperboard Packaging Competition
October 8, 2024
Graphic Packaging is celebrating a night of great success at the North American Paperboard Packaging Competition, after winning an outstanding ten awards.
Hosted by the Paperboard Packaging Council, these awards highlight the industry’s dedication to progressing innovation and sustainability in paperboard packaging around the world.
The octagonal paperboard carton developed in partnership with Nestlé Australia for their iconic Quality Street brand was honored with the prestigious Judge’s Award. The new paperboard pack is designed to be reminiscent of the previous plastic tub with the same distinctive shape and vibrant colors. An innovative fifth panel acts as a tamper-evident feature, removing the need for plastic wrapping. The new paperboard tub aligns with Nestlé’s ambitious goal of reducing virgin plastic use by up to a third by 2025.
The EnviroClip™ clip-style multipack solution developed for global brand PepsiCo won Gold Awards for both Sustainability and Innovation. PepsiCo required a paperboard solution to replace plastic shrink film on their 6-count 16.9oz PET bottles multipack. This multipack solution utilizes our Z-Flute™ system and was designed in such a way to provide the strength needed to accommodate to the weight of the PET bottles.
Other wins included:
